Administration Guide
How to monitor limits and usage
This guide shows you how to monitor a Site's quota usage and the instance-level license, and how to react when a quota approaches its cap.
Prerequisites
Note: This page covers instance-level administration in App Management. It is used by Global Administrators.
- For per-Site monitoring: you sign in as an Administrator of the target Site.
- For instance-level monitoring: you sign in as a Global Administrator.
Monitor Site quotas
- Sign in to the target Site.
- Open Admin Center > Site Settings > Limits and usage.
- Review the Subscription information card. Confirm the Next billing date and Monthly usage reset date. If the subscription shows an unlimited reset date, monthly counters do not reset on a fixed date for that subscription.
- Review the Limits card. Each row shows current usage versus the per-Site Max (or
unlimited ∞when the Site inherits from the instance):- Users — number of users on the Site.
- Devices — audited nodes on the Site.
- Audits per month — audits consumed in the current monthly usage period.
- API transactions per month — API transactions consumed in the current monthly usage period.
- Scroll to the Usage History table. Each row shows a prior month: Period, Audits, API transactions. Use this to identify trends and anticipate when a Site is likely to approach its monthly cap.
Note: The Audits-per-month and API-transactions-per-month counters reset on the monthly usage reset date. The Usage History table preserves the prior period's totals.
Monitor instance-level license
- Sign in as a Global Administrator.
- Open Admin Center > App management > Billing > License Information.
- Review the Data panel: Serial No., Expiration, Organization, User.
- Review the Discovery panel: Nodes (used /
Unlimited), Users (used /Unlimited), Audits per month (used /Unlimited), API transactions per month (used /Unlimited), and the recharge day. - Open Admin Center > App management > Billing > Limits and usage to review instance-wide usage history across all Sites.
React to a near-cap or exhausted quota
- Treat green informational notifications as early planning signals, yellow warnings as near-cap indicators, and red critical notifications as an immediate action item.
- If a Site's Audits per month or API transactions per month is near the cap, wait for the next recharge day, or raise the per-Site Max as Global Administrator.
- If a Site's Users or Devices is near the cap, raise the per-Site Max, or remove inactive users / pruned devices.
- If the instance license is approaching expiration, upload a renewed license file with the Upload license action on the License Information page.
- For symptoms tied to exhausted quotas (failed audits, 429 responses), see Troubleshooting.
Verify
- After raising a Site Max, refresh Admin Center > Site Settings > Limits and usage and confirm the new ceiling is shown on the Limits card.
- After uploading a license file, refresh Admin Center > App management > Billing > License Information and confirm the Serial No. and Expiration reflect the renewed license.
