Schedules Reference
Reference for the per-Site Scan and Audit schedule catalogs: list view, fields, attachment rules, RBAC split, and Audit-log footprint.
Two separate schedule types
Scan schedules and Audit schedules use separate workflows:
| Schedule type | Review path | Created from | Applies to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scan schedule | Admin Center > Site Settings > Settings > Scan schedules | Segment creation wizard or existing Segment view | Segment |
| Audit schedule | Admin Center > Site Settings > Settings > Audit schedules, device Audit tab, or Inventory grid Schedule action | Audit schedules catalog, device Audit tab, or selected devices in Inventory | Devices |
A Scan schedule cannot be assigned to a device, and an Audit schedule cannot be attached to a Segment.
List view
The Scan schedules grid includes:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Linked Segment name, shown as Segment: <name>. |
| Type | Scan. |
| Created at | Date and time when the schedule was created. |
| Last execution | Most recent run. Empty until first run. |
| Next execution | Next scheduled run. |
The Audit schedules grid includes:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Schedule | Audit schedule name. |
| Devices | Number of devices assigned to the schedule. |
| Last execution | Most recent run. Empty until first run. |
| Next execution | Next scheduled run. |

Schedule form
Audit schedules include these fields:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Name | yes | Human-readable label. Appears in the schedule catalog and in the Audit log. |
| Description | no | Optional schedule description. |
| Occurs | yes | Select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Daily schedules require an At time. Weekly schedules require On days and an At time. Monthly schedules require On day and an At time. |
Scan schedules are created for a specific Segment. The form shows the Segment name and uses the same Occurs options. Daily scan schedules can run at a specific time or every specified number of hours.
When you open an existing Audit schedule, the form also includes a Devices tab. The tab lists devices assigned to that schedule.
Attachment rules
| Schedule type | Where attached | Constraint |
|---|---|---|
| Scan | Segment creation wizard or Segment view | A Scan schedule belongs to a Segment. |
| Audit | Device Audit tab or Inventory grid Schedule action | A device holds at most one Audit schedule at a time. Assigning a different schedule replaces the existing one. |
Log footprint
| Schedule type | Log | Initiator value |
|---|---|---|
| Audit | Audit log | Schedule |
| Scan | Scan log | Schedule |
RBAC
The administrative split is the load-bearing fact for this section:
| Action | Site Administrator | Site User |
|---|---|---|
| Create a schedule definition | yes | no |
| Edit a schedule definition | yes | no |
| Delete a schedule definition | yes | no |
| Assign a schedule to a device or Segment | yes | yes |
| Unassign a schedule from a device or Segment | yes | yes |
This split lets a Site User own a device's audit cadence — picking and switching among schedules the administrator has defined — without giving them the ability to add or remove schedule definitions from the Site catalog.
Constraints
- A device can have only one assigned Audit schedule. Assigning another schedule replaces the current one. To use different audit cadences, create separate schedules and assign each schedule to the appropriate devices.
