Dashboard Widgets Reference
Dashboard widgets are visual blocks that appear inside a saved dashboard. AlloyScan provides a static Site health widget and Analytics widgets. Some Analytics widgets are available out of the box, and saved Analytics charts become available as widgets.
Widget types
| Type | What it shows | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Static widget | A ready-made dashboard widget that is not based on an Analytics chart. | Site health is the static widget available out of the box. |
| Analytics widget | An analytical dashboard widget. | AlloyScan includes 15 Analytics widgets out of the box. Saved Analytics charts also become available as Analytics widgets. |
Static widget
The static widget is Site health. It shows counters for Segments, Audit services, Discovered devices, and Audited devices.
Site health is available out of the box. Like other dashboard widgets, Administrators can add it from the widget palette, remove it from a dashboard, and change its placement or size.
Analytics widgets
Analytics widgets show analytical charts on a dashboard.
AlloyScan includes 15 Analytics widgets out of the box. Saved charts from Analytics also become available in the Dashboard widget palette as Analytics widgets.
Analytics widgets are managed from Dashboard edit mode. Create or update user-created charts in Analytics, then add them from the Dashboard widget palette.
The widget palette lists widgets that are not currently on the dashboard. Add a widget by dragging it from the palette onto the dashboard.

Constraints
- Dashboard layout editing is available to Administrators.
- Users can view dashboards and switch dashboards, but cannot edit dashboard layouts.
- Dashboard editing requires a wide browser window. If the window is too narrow, AlloyScan disables add, move, resize, and remove actions until the window is wider.
- The widget palette can be empty when all widgets available to the current dashboard have already been added.
- Analytics widgets can be out-of-the-box widgets or widgets based on saved Analytics charts.
