About App Management
App Management is the instance-level administration surface in AlloyScan. Use it when you need to manage configuration that belongs to the AlloyScan instance as a whole rather than to one current Site.
This area matters most in multi-site deployments. If your AlloyScan instance hosts many tenant Sites, App Management is where Global Administrators create Sites, maintain default configuration for new Sites, and manage shared operational surfaces such as the Email client and manufacturer catalog.
Note: This page covers instance-level administration in App Management. It is used by Global Administrators.

What belongs here
The App Management tab covers instance-level administration such as:
- Sites — create and manage tenant Sites on the instance
- Site Template — defaults copied into newly created Sites
- Email client — shared transport used for notification delivery
- Resources — shared catalogs such as Manufacturers
- Billing and license — instance-level quota and subscription information
- Global logs — logs that aggregate or operate at instance scope
- Multi-site reports — cross-Site reporting entry points
Why this section exists
App Management is not just "more admin settings". It serves a different job:
- Site Settings operates the current Site
- App Management operates the instance that hosts many Sites
That difference is especially important for Site Template. A Site Template does not update the current Site; it sets defaults that are copied into future Sites at creation time.
Deployment note
Some App Management surfaces, especially global IAM views, are more deployment-dependent than the core Site Settings workflows. In this guide, the first authoring pass focuses on the most stable multisite administration surfaces rather than trying to exhaust every deployment-specific variation.
Common examples
Use App Management to:
- create a new Site for a new tenant
- configure a Site Template before onboarding a batch of new Sites
- update shared Email client settings
- maintain the shared Manufacturers catalog
- review instance-wide billing and license state
- open cross-Site reporting entry points
