Site Settings vs Site Template

Surface Scope Visibility When changes take effect
Site Settings One Site Site Administrator and Global Administrator Immediately, on the affected Site
Site Template Instance defaults for new Sites Global Administrator only At the next Site creation

Constraints

  • The Site Template has no visible version history in the UI.
  • The exact set of fields exposed in each subsystem may vary by deployment.
  • Template records are not enforced as policy on existing Sites. Drift between the template and existing Sites is expected.
