How to export a Network Map

This guide shows you how to export a Network Map to PDF or PNG, and how to upload a floor plan image as the map background.

Note: Details may vary by deployment.

Prerequisites

  • You have an open Network Map for a switch. See View a Network Map.
  • For floor plan upload: a floor plan image file representing the physical layout of your space.

Steps — Export to PDF or PNG

  1. Open the Network Map for the switch.

  2. Use the export control on the map.

  3. Choose the format:

    • PDF — vector / paginated output suitable for documentation.
    • PNG — raster image suitable for embedding in slides or wikis.
  4. Save the file to your workstation.

Steps — Upload a floor plan background

  1. Open the Network Map for the switch.

  2. Use the floor plan upload control on the map.

  3. Select the floor plan image file from your workstation and upload it.

  4. The image becomes the background of the Network Map. Switch and neighbour nodes overlay on top of the floor plan.

  5. To replace or remove the floor plan, repeat the upload step or use the corresponding control on the map.

Verify

  • The exported PDF or PNG opens in your viewer of choice and shows the topology you saw on screen.
  • After a floor plan upload, the image renders behind the topology nodes and connections on the live map.
