How to configure the email client

This guide shows you how to configure the instance-wide Email client that AlloyScan uses to deliver notification emails for all Sites.

Note: This page covers instance-level administration in App Management. It is used by Global Administrators.

Prerequisites

  • You sign in as a Global Administrator (the App management tab is visible in Admin Center).
  • You have the credentials for your email transport provider — for the Microsoft Graph API transport, you need the Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client secret of an Azure application registration with permission to send mail.
  • You have a verified sender email address that the application is allowed to send from.

Steps

  1. Sign in to AlloyScan as a Global Administrator.
  2. Open Admin Center > App management > Email.
  3. Choose the transport in the Type combobox.
  4. Fill in the transport-specific fields:
    • For Microsoft Graph API: enter the Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client secret from the Azure app registration.
  5. In Message from, enter the email address that AlloyScan should use as the sender for outgoing notifications.
  6. Click Test to validate the configuration. AlloyScan attempts a connection using the values you entered.
  7. After the test succeeds, save the configuration.

Important: The Email client is instance-wide. Every Site on the instance uses these settings to deliver notification emails. Changes take effect for new notifications queued after save.

Verify

  • Open Admin Center > Site Settings > Notifications > Subscriptions on any Site, confirm at least one subscriber, and trigger an event that fires a notification template.
  • Open Admin Center > Site Settings > Logs > Notifications and confirm new rows appear with Status indicating successful delivery.
  • If global-level Notifications log is enabled, also check Admin Center > App management > Logs > Notifications.
