First sign-in and UI tour

Use this page the first time you sign in to AlloyScan. It explains the sign-in options, the header controls, and the left navigation you will use in the Quick Start tutorials.

  1. Open your Site URL, using the pattern https://<instance>.alloyservice.com/<site_slug>.
  2. Sign in with the method configured for your Site:

    • email and password
    • Sign in with Microsoft
    • Sign in with Google
  3. After sign-in, AlloyScan opens the Site Dashboard.

If an SSO button is not visible, that provider has not been enabled for the Site. If your account is inactive, a Site Administrator must reactivate it before you can sign in.

Header controls

The header appears at the top of authenticated pages.

Control What it does
Quick search Opens a command-palette style search. The / shortcut opens it from the keyboard.
Site switcher Lets you move between Sites you can access. Useful in MSP or multi-site deployments.
Bell icon Opens the Notifications panel. The gear link in the panel opens alert subscription management.
User menu Opens account actions such as theme, layout, Manage your account, and Log out.

Left navigation

The left sidebar contains the main AlloyScan areas:

  • Dashboard — site health, audit freshness, and high-level inventory widgets.
  • Inventory — audited devices and their device forms.
  • Software — site-wide software catalog.
  • Reports — built-in and custom report templates.
  • Network — Segments, Audit Agents, and audit-method selection.
  • Admin Center — visible to administrators; Site Settings and App Management.

Roles in the Quick Start

Most Quick Start setup tasks require the Administrator role because they create Segments, install Audit Services, or manage credentials.

Users can still perform many day-to-day actions after setup, including:

  • view Dashboard, Inventory, Software, Reports, and Network Segments
  • start scans or audits when permitted
  • assign existing audit schedules
  • apply existing tags
  • subscribe to notifications
