How to manage audit schedules

This guide shows you how to create an Audit schedule and assign it to a device so that AlloyScan re-audits that device on a recurring cadence.

Prerequisites

  • Site Administrator role to create or delete schedules. Users can also assign or unassign existing schedules.
  • The device exists in Inventory with at least one prior audit snapshot.

Steps

Create an audit schedule

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Site Settings > Settings > Audit schedules.
  2. Click + New schedule.
  3. Fill in the schedule fields: | Field | Description | |---|---| | Name | A descriptive name (for example, Daily critical servers). | | Type | Set automatically to Audit. | | Granularity | Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. |
  4. Click Save.

Assign the schedule to a device

  1. Navigate to Inventory > (device type) and click the device row to open its form.
  2. Switch to the Audit tab.
  3. In the Audit schedule panel, click Assign schedule when the slot reads UNASSIGNED.
  4. Pick the schedule you created and confirm.

Important: A device can have at most ONE audit schedule. Assigning a new schedule replaces the previous assignment.

Verify

After assigning, the Audit schedule row on the device's Audit tab shows the schedule name. Scheduled runs appear in Admin Center > Site Settings > Logs > Audit log with Initiator set to Schedule. After the next scheduled run, the device's Audit ID and Audit date update to the new snapshot.
