How to use Quick search
Use Quick search when you want to search AlloyScan data, such as audited devices, discovered devices, software, and segments, without opening a specific grid first.
Quick search is available from the top header on authenticated AlloyScan pages.
Open Quick search
- From any AlloyScan page, click Quick search in the top header.
- Start typing the text you want to find.
- Review the grouped results.
- Select a result to open it.
Use search results
Quick search opens a search panel. Results are grouped by record type when matches are found.
Quick search can return matches in groups such as:
- Audited device - audited devices and cloud resources
- Discovered device - discovered devices and cloud resources
- Software - software products discovered in audit data
- Segment - segments configured under Network
For precise row filtering, open the target module and use Filter items or column filters in that grid.
Quick search and grid filters
Quick search searches across AlloyScan data and opens matching results.
Filter items filters rows in the current grid. In grid pages, press / to focus Filter items.
When to use grid filters instead
Use module-specific filters when you need:
- exact column filtering
- saved views
- conditional formatting
- export of the filtered result set
- large result sets that may exceed the visible quick-search result list
