How to view a Network Map
This guide shows you how to open and read the Network Map for an SNMP switch.
Note: Details may vary by deployment.
Prerequisites
- Your site has at least one switch discovered as an SNMP device.
- The switch has been audited at least once via SNMP (so port and neighbour data is present).
- You have permission to view the SNMP devices Inventory.
Steps
-
Navigate to Inventory > SNMP devices.
-
In the SNMP devices grid, filter by subtype Switches and click the switch whose topology you want to view.
-
In the switch detail view, open the Network interfaces tab.
-
Click Show as map.
- Read the map:
- Nodes represent the switch and its directly connected neighbours.
- Connections are visually coded by connection type and link state.
- Hover or click a node to inspect the underlying device record.
Verify
- The map renders with the switch as the focal node.
- Connected neighbours match what you see on the switch's Network interfaces tab.
- Visual coding for active versus inactive links is consistent with the latest SNMP audit data.
