Upgrade process

This article lists the steps you should take to upgrade from Alloy Navigator Express to Alloy Navigator Enterprise.

  1. Install Alloy Navigator Enterprise
    1. Install server components of Alloy Discovery
    2. Install server components of Alloy Navigator
    3. Create a pilot Alloy Navigator database
    4. Activate Alloy Navigator2024
    5. Install and configure the Web App
    6. Install and configure the Self Service Portal
    7. Install and configure the API module
  2. Test your pilot Alloy Navigator Enterprise system
    1. Start Your Alloy Automation Server 2024
    2. Test your pilot Alloy Navigator database and customize new workflow
    3. Customize new workflow
    4. Optional: Update your pilot Alloy Navigator data
  3. Deactivate Alloy Navigator Express
    1. Stop the Automation Server of Alloy Navigator Express
    2. Force Users to Log Off
    3. Uninstall Alloy Navigator Express web applications of the previous version
  4. Switch your pilot Alloy Navigator Enterprise to production
    1. Stop the Automation Server of Alloy Navigator 2024
    2. Upgrade the Production Alloy Discovery Database
    3. Activate Alloy Discovery 2024
    4. Move to Production
    5. Reconfigure Alloy Navigator Express web applications for production database and production URLs
    6. Redirect Mail Connector to the support mailbox
    7. Delete test notifications and resume the Notification Queue
    8. Start the production Automation Server and Inventory Server
    9. Upgrade Client Components for Technicians
  5. Perform additional steps
    1. Optional: Uninstall the Previous Version of Alloy Navigator Express
