Pilot upgrade process

This article lists the steps you should take to perform the pilot upgrade.

1. Install Alloy Navigator Express:
   1. Install server components of Alloy Navigator Express
   2. Create a pilot Alloy Navigator Express database
   3. Activate your pilot Alloy Navigator Express database
   4. Install and configure Alloy Navigator Express web applications
2. Test your pilot Alloy Navigator Express system:
   1. Start pilot Automation Server
   2. Test your pilot Network Inventory module
   3. Test your pilot Alloy Navigator Express database and customize new workflow
   4. Optional: Update your pilot Alloy Navigator Express data
3. Switch your pilot Alloy Navigator Express to production:
   1. Stop the production Automation Server
   2. Force users to log off
   3. Stop the Automation Server in the pilot environment
   4. Upgrade Alloy Navigator Express server components
   5. Switch your pilot Alloy Navigator Express to production
   6. Upgrade Alloy Navigator Express web applications
   7. Reconfigure updated web applications
   8. Switch the Mobile App to the native API integration
   9. Redirect Mail Connector to the support mailbox
   10. Delete test notifications and resume the Notification Queue
   11. Start the production Automation Server
   12. Upgrade client components for technicians
4. Perform additional steps:
   1. Invite technicians to install the Mobile App
   2. Optional: Uninstall Alloy Navigator Express of the previous version
   3. Optional: Remove unneeded SQL Server accounts
