Auditing Sites
After you have created Sites, deployed Inventory Analyzer package, and automated the audit as needed, Alloy Discovery will start automatically populating your Sites with the audit information about Network Nodes in accordance with the schedules and automation scenarios that you have set.
You can perform the Direct Network Scan of a Site. Auditing a Site means auditing all Direct Network Scan Audit Sources in this Site using the settings specified for these Audit Sources.
NOTE: In order to audit Chromebooks across any network segment, you must configure and audit Google Directory Audit Sources within a Site. For details, see Google Directory Audit.
Audit operations for the Site, which does not have associated Inventory Server, are disabled. When the associated server is stopped, the audit task will be added to the Task List, but the audit will not be carried out until the server starts. For detailed information about managing Inventory Servers, see Inventory Server Manager. If there are more than one Inventory Server registered in the database, you can associate this Site with another Inventory Server by modifying the Site's properties.
To audit a Site:
-
Right-click the Site in the Sidebar and select Audit This Site from the pop-up menu.
-
In the Select Audit Sources window, select the source that you want to audit.
-
Click OK.
When new computers are added to the network, instead of running the audit of an entire Site you can audit only those computers that were not audited yet. Alloy Discovery will attempt to discover new computers in the Site's Direct Network Audit Sources and audit only those that were not audited earlier.
To audit previously unaudited in a Site:
-
Right-click the Site in the Sidebar, and select Audit This Site > Audit Never Audited from the pop-up menu.
-
In the Select Audit Sources window, select a source that you want to audit.
-
Click OK.
