Direct Network Scan
The Direct Network Scan is a method of auditing LAN computers and network devices at your request or on a regular basis, without the need to deploy standalone audit agents. You can audit multiple networked computers running Windows, Linux, or Mac OS simultaneously for up-to-the-minute audit snapshots.
After you have created Sites with Direct Network Scan Audit Sources and set the audit schedule (see Configuring Direct Network Scan Audit Sources), Alloy Discovery will start automatically populating your Sites with the audit information about computers and network devices in accordance with your schedule.
However, you can perform the Direct Network Scan on demand as follows:
-
Audit a Site that means auditing all Direct Network Scan Audit Sources in this Site.
-
Audit a Direct Network Scan Audit Source that describes a network segment or a set of segments.
