Quick filtering in data grids

Quick filtering allows you to instantly filter data using the columns shown in the data grid, without delving into complex configurations. Since quick filters operate on data already loaded from the database, they do not enhance performance as the advanced filtering does. See how you can quickly filter your data for immediate result.

You can apply the Quick Filter in the following ways:

• Filtering by field values

• Filtering by an excluded field’s value

• Filtering with the Filter Row

• Filtering by custom criteria

Once you apply a quick filter, the filtering condition appears in the Condition Panel.

From the Condition Panel, you can perform the following tasks:

• Modifying a filter

• Saving a filter to a file

• Applying a previously used filter

• Applying a saved filter

• Disabling quick filters

• Removing quick filters

NOTE: By default, Alloy Navigator Express converts the Quick Filter into the Advanced Filter when you save a grid view (for details, see Working with views). To disable automatic conversion, clear the check box in the Advanced Filter Options section of the Advanced Preferences.
