Creating and saving custom views

You can create your own custom views by copying existing views and then customizing the copies.

To create a custom view:

1. Switch to the view to customize (for details, see Switching between data views).

2. Save the view with a new name:

   1. Select View > Current View > Save View As from the main menu.

   2. Enter a name for the new view.

   3. Click OK.

   TIP: Alternatively, you can customize a view directly in the Customize View pane and use Save As to create a new version.

3. Customize the view to your needs by applying any of the following methods:

• Arranging grid columns and rows

• Filtering records

• Grouping records

• Displaying summary statistics

• Sorting records

• Customizing grid appearance

4. Save your changes by choosing View > Current View > Save Current View from the main menu.

IMPORTANT: By default, Alloy Navigator Express converts the Quick Filter into the Advanced Filter, when you save a grid view. To disable automatic conversion, clear the check box in the Advanced Filter Options section of the Advanced Preferences.
