Module menu

The module menu is a menu that provides access to context-specific actions and functions of the currently active component. The module menu is located at the top of the workspace pane of the Desktop App.

Depending on the module, this menu appears above the grid when you display Alloy Navigator component, at the top of the window when you open an object record or perform a workflow action. All inactive functions are grayed-out.

Grid's module menu

This type of menu may contain the following options:

  • Drop-down list enabling you to switch between various visual representations of the grid data (called as views) and work with views.

  • Shortcuts to standard actions that you use when working with records (for example, open, delete, and so on).

  • New sub-menu enabling you to create object records.

  • Actions sub-menu enabling you to perform Step Actions specific for a particular component or an object record (for example, you can use the Assign to action for Work Orders).

  • Filter box. This box enables you to apply the quick filter to the grid.

Object record's module menu

This type of module menu usually enable you to perform standard functions with the object record (for example, print out the record, save or refresh the data), attach files, move up and down through object detail records, perform actions, etc.

Workflow actions' module menu

This type of module menu may contain some standard editor commands (for example, cut and paste) and the drop-down list allowing you to insert timestamps or snippets.
