Scheduling reports

Alloy Navigator Express is shipped with an extensive set of reports representing various kinds of information from the database in a convenient form. Normally, reports are generated by technicians from the Desktop App. However, as the administrator, you can set particular reports to be generated automatically at specified intervals. Reports can be generated in various output formats and saved to a local or network computer or sent via e-mail.

NOTE: By default, the job for sending daily SSP searches reports via e-mail is already configured. If you want to use this job, you need to enable the job shedule. For details, see Managing reporting jobs. You can also customize the job as needed, for details, see Configuring reporting settings for the SSP searches.

For each report that you want to be auto-generated by schedule, you have to configure a separate job. You configure reporting jobs in the Services > Scheduled Reports section. The section includes the following subsections:

IMPORTANT: All scheduled jobs are carried out by the Automation Server, a tool that is shipped with Alloy Navigator Express and registered as a Windows service. You should configure and start the Automation Server prior to configuring reporting jobs. For more information, see Starting and stopping the Automation Server.

IMPORTANT: If you want scheduled reports to be automatically sent via e-mail, you first have to make sure that outgoing e-mail notification settings are properly configured. For more information, see Configuring and Controlling Outgoing Notifications.
