Scheduling reports
Alloy Navigator Express is shipped with an extensive set of reports representing various kinds of information from the database in a convenient form. Reports can be run by technicians, from the Web App or Desktop App. However, as an administrator, you can schedule reports to run automatically at specified intervals. Scheduled reports can be generated in various output formats and saved to a local or network computer or sent via email.
NOTE: For more information on reports, see the Reports.
You should configure a reporting job for every report you want to schedule. You configure reporting jobs in the Services > Scheduled Reports section. The section includes the following subsections:
-
Reports - for details, see Reporting jobs
-
Logs - for details, see Reporting Log, SSP Search Log
IMPORTANT: All automated jobs are run by the Automation Server, a tool that is shipped with Alloy Navigator Express and registered as a Windows service. You should configure and start the Automation Server prior to configuring reporting jobs. For more information, see Starting and stopping the Automation Server.
IMPORTANT: If you want scheduled reports to be automatically sent via e-mail, you first have to make sure that outgoing e-mail notification settings are properly configured. For more information, see Configuring and Controlling Outgoing Notifications.
