Configuring a System Information widget

For Desktop App only

A System Information widget can display the information about the current Alloy Navigator Express database and the current user, along with a reference to the "About Alloy Navigator Express" page (also accessible by clicking Help > About).

You specify the properties of a new System Information widget or modify properties of an existing widget of this type using the System Information Widget Properties window.

System Information Widget Properties window

General section - specifies general properties of the widget:

Name - the "internal" name of the widget, which identifies it in widget lists.

Title - the widget title, which will be actually displayed in the dashboard.

Allow to minimize widget - specifies whether users can minimize this widget.

Information section - allows you to manage the list of information items displayed within the widget:

    • To add an item, click New. In the Info Name field, select one of the following variants to be shown:

      • Database Name - the name of Alloy Navigator Expressdatabase that is currently in use.

      • User Name - the user name (login) of the current user and the full name of the Person associated with the account of this user.

      • About Alloy Navigator Express - a link to the "About Alloy Navigator Express" page.

Optionally, you can edit the item caption in the Caption field. Click OK.

    • To modify an item, select it, click Edit, change the item properties as needed, and click OK.

    • To rearrange items within the widget, use the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

    • To delete an item, select it in the list and click Delete

Display Properties section - specifies the number of lines to display in the widget:

Number of lines to display - effectively determines the widget height:

      • To limit the height of the widget, enter the number of lines to show. The widget will automatically add a scroll bar when the number of the configured information items exceeds the specified height. The height will be reduced automatically when the number of information items is less than the specified height.

      • To let the widget adjust its height automatically to show all available content, click display all.
