Update remote audit agents

If you use any of these Audit Sources in Network Inventory, follow the instructions below to update your deployed audit tools to the latest version:

Update audit agents for E-mail and FTP Audit sources
If you use the Remote Audit method with audit snapshot delivery via FTP or over e-mail, you need to re-build the Inventory Analyzer package and re-deploy it to the target network. If you use an installable audit agent, you need to re-create the installer and run it on every offsite and remote computers to update the installed agent. This will update deployed audit tools to the latest version.
NOTE: If you have already updated your Alloy Audit Tools to the latest version, you do not have to update your remote audit agents. For details, see Alloy Audit Tools update.
To re-deploy the Inventory Analyzer package for the Remote Audit:

Run the Network Inventory App on a technician’s computer.

Re-build the Inventory Analyzer package as follows:

In the Side Bar, right-click the Site that contains your Audit Source and select Properties from the pop-up menu.

Under Audit Sources, double-click your FTP or E-mail Audit Source to bring up the [Source Name] window.

On the General tab, click Create Package. The Deploy Folder Location window opens.

Browse to the destination folder for the Inventory Analyzer package and click OK.
Network Inventory creates a new package in the target folder.
- Click OK to close the Site window.

Deliver the new package to the remote site and re-deploy it on the target network.
To update the installed audit agent:

Run the Network Inventory App on a technician’s computer.

Re-create the audit agent installer as follows:

In the Side Bar, right-click the Site that contains your Audit Source and select Properties from the pop-up menu.

Under Audit Sources, double-click your FTP or E-mail Audit Source to bring up the[Source Name] window.

On the General tab, under Windows Installer, view and optionally change the schedule for the agent. The Windows Task Scheduler will use this schedule to run the updated agent.

Click the Create Installer button under Windows Installer and specify where to save the
AlloyAuditAgent.msi
file.Network Inventory creates a new installer.

Click OK to close the Site's properties.

Deliver the new installer to the remote computers and run the installer to update the agent on every computer where you have the audit agent installed.
Update audit agents for Portable Audit sources
If you use the Portable Audit method in Network Inventory, re-build the Inventory Analyzer package and re-deploy it to a portable media. This will update your deployed audit tools to the latest version.
NOTE: If your have the latest version of Alloy Audit Tools, you do not have to re-deploy your Inventory Analyzer packages.
To re-deploy the Inventory Analyzer package for the Portable Audit, follow these steps:

Run the Network Inventory App on a technician’s computer.

Re-build the Inventory Analyzer package as follows:

In the Side Bar, right-click the Site where you have created the Portable Audit Source and select Properties from the pop-up menu.

Under Audit Sources, double-click your Portable Audit Source to bring up the [Source Name] window.

Click Deploy. The Deploy Folder Location window opens.

Browse to the destination folder for the Inventory Analyzer package and click OK.
Network Inventory creates a new package in the target folder.

Click OK to close the Site window.

Deliver the new Inventory Analyzer package to each individual client computer (for example, using a USB flash drive) and run the audit.
