Customizing the Self Service Portal
The Self Service Portal (SSP) is a web interface for your customers and internal company users to the Service Desk, Knowledge Base and other modules of Alloy Navigator Express.

When your SSP is installed and configured, you can customize a number of features available to customers:

Configure Self-Registration for creating SSP customer accounts. For instructions, see Setting Up Self-Registration.

Manage user authentication for customers without SSP accounts. For instructions, see Setting up LDAP Authentication for SSP.

Personalize templates for Self Service Portal notifications. For instructions, see Modifying Templates for Self Service Portal Notifications.

Implement support for direct URLs to tickets and other SSP objects in your e-mail notifications, so that people can access these objects with a single click on a hyperlink. For instructions, see Using Direct Links, Specifying the Self Service Portal URL for Direct Links.

Perform advanced configuration of the Self Service Portal. For example, you can customize the appearance of pages, embed custom JavaScript, customize the Home page, change the views, or add a new language. For instructions, see Advanced SSP Configuration.

NOTE: The Self Service Portal provides access to only certain modules of Alloy Navigator Express. You specify which modules are available when you configure the Self Service Portal. For details, see Installation Guide: Defining the Self Service Portal's Scope.
