General tab
The General tab allows you to enter all the details about a person. Information on this tab is organized in the following sections and sub-tabs:

Categorization section - shows the type of the Person record (the list of available types is defined by your Alloy Navigator administrator) the person’s title, name, gender, and birthday.

The Full Name field is mandatory and displays the name of the person as it will be shown in the various fields of person-related records.

Work Information section - contains the following fields:

Job Title - shows the position of the person in the organization.

Organization - displays the name of the organization the person works for. To view the details of the Organization, click the hyperinked field label.

Location - displays the physical location of the person. To view the details of the Location, click the hyperinked field label.

Technician - indicates if this person is a technician. Only technician Person records appear in various technician-related drop-down lists and Select Technician or Select Person windows used to fill out such fields as Assigned to, Manager, the list of members of a Group, etc.

Manager - shows the name of the person's manager. To view the details of the Person, click the hyperinked field label.

Contact info sub-tab - displays various contact information of the person: picture, phone, and fax numbers, instant messenger (IM), SMS, and primary e-mail addresses. The primary e-mail address is entered and selected on the following E-mail sub-tab. For details on managing person picture, see Adding, changing, or removing person pictures.

E-mail sub-tab - shows the list of the person’s e-mail addresses and the toolbar that includes the following icons:

Open - opens the selected e-mail address in the E-mail Address window.

Add - opens an empty E-mail Address window where you can specify the details of a new e-mail address and save it.

Delete - removes the selected e-mail address from the list.

Set Primary E-mail - marks the selected e-mail address as primary. Typically, the primary e-mail address is used to send notifications to Alloy Navigator users. In addition, the primary e-mail address is used for identifying users by several Alloy Navigator modules.

Logins sub-tab - displays the list of the person’s user names for different domains and workgroups and the toolbar that includes the following icons:

Open - opens the selected login details in the Person Login window.

Add - opens an empty Person Login window where you can specify the details of a new login and save it.

Delete - removes the selected login from the list.
-
Set Primary Login - marks the selected login as primary. Typically, the primary login is used by to identify users.

Address sub-tab - displays up to three addresses for this person.

Technician sub-tab - appears only if the person is marked as technician.

Skill Level - the technician's skill level (a text value).
-
Hourly Rate - the technician's hourly rate (a currency value).

Calendar - the work calendar of the technician. If your organization supports multiple work calendars, technicians may have different calendars.
NOTE: The list of available work calendars is set by your Alloy Navigator administrator. For details, see Setting up work calendars.
TIP: Technicians or their managers can also add personal events to the technician's personal calendar; for details, see Scheduling personal events.

Devices - the list of registered mobile devices of the technician. To delete the devices that are not used anymore, select them and click Delete.
NOTE: A device is registered in Alloy Navigator as soon as the technician signs in to Alloy Navigator using the Mobile App.

Groups sub-tab - displays the list of groups to which the person belongs. The toolbar includes the following icons:

Open - opens the selected Group record.

Add - adds a group to the list (i.e. adds the current person to a new group).

Delete - removes the selected group from the list (i.e. excludes the person from the group).

Order - opens the List Items Order window, where you can set the order of groups to which the person belongs. The order matters for Person Actions that update the person's Groups. Groups are updated in the same order as displayed in the Rank field.

The General tab may also display various user-defined fields in an additional section if your Alloy Navigator administrator has configured them accordingly. The default name of this section is "Custom Data", although your Alloy Navigator administrator may have renamed this section.
NOTE: User-defined fields can appear also on the Custom Data tab (this is the default name of the tab; it can be renamed by your Alloy Navigator administrator).
