Copying records

Creating new records by copying existing ones is sometimes easier and quicker than creating a new record from scratch. Typically, you copy a record by performing the Copy [Object] workflow action. However, your Alloy Navigator administrator may rename this action or create custom actions for copying records.

To copy a record:

  1. Select the record you want to copy.

  2. Perform the Copy [Object] action. Typically, the action brings up the action form, where you can modify some values of the new record as necessary. Actions are configured by your Alloy Navigator administrator; for details, see Performing workflow actions.

  1. Click OK to create the new record.

NOTE: Company Addresses and Brands do not support workflow actions; so you can always copy a Brand or Company Address by using the Actions > Copy Item from the pop-up or module menu.
