Before you configure workflow, make sure the following steps are completed:

• Define security roles. For details, see Creating and Maintaining Security Roles.

• Configure outgoing e-mail. For details, see Configuring and Controlling Outgoing Notifications.

• Configure object Types and Statuses classifiers. For details, see Setting Up Lookup Lists.

• Configure user macros. For details, see Configuring Macros.

• Optional: Add user-defined fields as necessary. For details, see Working with User-Defined Fields.
