Auto-configuring the Inventory Server

To run all automated tasks in Alloy Discovery, you must configure and start the Inventory Server. The Alloy Database Management tool allows you to auto-configure and start the Inventory Server after you have activated a new database in the following cases:

1. If the Database Management tool started automatically after the installation of Alloy Discovery.

2. If the Inventory Server is running and connected to another database.

Alternatively, you can manually configure the Inventory Server by using the Inventory Server Manager.

The action includes the following wizard pages:

• Optional: Start Inventory Server or Set up Inventory Server for working with new database

• Inventory Server is starting

• Setup completed
