Create Actions widgets

A Create New widget displays a list of Templates for various Alloy Navigator Express objects. It allows users to create new objects directly from the dashboard.

To configure a Create Actions widget:

1. Open a dashboard.

2. Click Customize Dashboard in the upper-right corner. The widget library opens.

3. To create a new widget:

   1. Click Actions (three dots).

   2. Select New Widget > Create Actions.

4. On the Settings tab, configure:

   • Title: Name displayed on dashboards and in the widget library.

   • Actions > Add: Select Templates to appear in the widget.

     For each selected template, you can configure a custom caption, if needed.

5. Drag template to change their display order.

6. On the Sharing tab, choose who can access the widget:

   • Only me: Keeps the widget private and visible only to you.

   • Everyone: Makes the widget visible to all users.

   • Specific people or groups: Shares the widget with selected users and/or groups.

   IMPORTANT: Widget sharing controls who can see the widget on dashboards. However, individual Templates are typically restricted by user roles and permissions. Users can only see and use actions available to their roles.

7. Save the widget.

   The widget is now available to add to dashboards.
