Managing user macros

Introduced in 2025.2

Macros enable you to reuse commonly used blocks of text, such as standard greetings, e-mail signatures, disclaimers, etc., in multiple e-mail notifications or message boxes.

Alloy Navigator Express uses two kinds of macros:

  • System macros are built-in macros. They do not appear in the Macros grid, but they are available in the Select Placeholder dialog when you insert dynamic content. For more information, see System macros.

  • User macros are the macros displayed in the Macros grid. Some are pre-defined, while others are created by administrators. User macros can contain reusable text, placeholders for object fields and other macros.

To access the user macros, open the following section in the Admin Center: General > Macros.

TIP: If your configuration contains many macros, use the standard filter box to quickly find the macro you need. Press CTRL+F and then enter text in the filter box that appears above the macros grid. As you type, the grid displays only the macros containing that text. For details, see Searching for text in grids.
