Importing configuration settings

You can import configuration settings from an XML export file. For details, see Exporting configuration settings.

Some export files may contain a complete workflow pack for all objects. Such files support an overwrite mode, which allows you to replace existing workflow configuration with the configuration from the file.

To import configuration settings:

1. On the Workflow and Business Logic page, click Export and Import and select Import Settings.

2. Select the XML file that contains the configuration settings. The Import Settings dialog opens.

3. Review the file information:
   • File name
   • Version (the Alloy Navigator Express version used to generate the file)
   • Description (if provided)
4. If the dialog indicates that the file contains a complete workflow pack for all objects, choose how the import should be performed:
   1. Select Overwrite the existing workflow for all objects if you want to replace the current workflow configuration with the configuration from the file.
   2. Leave the check box clear if you want the imported settings to be added to the existing configuration.

5. Click Import Settings.

6. When the system reports that the import has completed successfully, click OK.
