Granting anonymous access

Introduced in 2024.2

The Anonymous Access page allows you to specify which areas of the Self Service Portal can be accessed by users who are not signed in. By enabling anonymous access, you can share certain information publicly while keeping the rest of the portal secure and available only to authenticated users.

Here’s what you can configure:

  • Homepage: Allows anonymous users to access the homepage. Note that the content visible on the homepage depends on the other options you enable for anonymous access. If disabled, anonymous users will be prompted to sign in when trying to access the homepage.

  • Announcements: Grants access to public announcements, making them visible without requiring a sign-in.

  • Knowledge Base Articles: Enables anonymous users to access Knowledge Base articles directly using their URLs. This is useful for linking specific articles from external websites or communications.

  • Knowledge Base: Allows browsing of the Knowledge Base, enabling unauthenticated users to explore available content for self-help.

Anonymous users can access enabled areas either directly from the homepage or by using direct URLs. For example, you could include links to Announcements or Knowledge Base content on your external website to guide users to specific resources.
