FTP Audit
Updated in 2022.1
The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Audit is a method of WAN audit, based on using audit agents in the standalone mode. This audit method is similar to the Network Folder Audit method, however the network share where the Inventory Analyzer package is being deployed on the external (remote) network, with no direct connection from the local network.
This method involves two steps: deploying the Inventory Analyzer package to the target network and automating the Inventory Analyzer on that network using domain logon scripts or scheduled tasks. The audit snapshots are delivered to Network Inventory via FTP/SFTP. When using this audit method, there is no direct link between the Automation Server and deployed audit agents; this is why any configuration changes or updated versions of the audit agents have to be manually re-deployed.
