Filter Editor window
You use the Filter Editor window to create or modify the chart filter. To access this window, click Add or Edit in the Manage Chart Filters window when creating or modifying a chart filter.
The Filter Editor window contains the following fields and sections:
Name - the chart filter name.
Central unnamed section - the filtering condition applied to the chart data. You specify a chart filter in the same way as you create an advanced filter for data views using the Advanced Filter tab of the Customize View window.
The chart filter can be built in one of the following modes:
-
Design mode - this default mode allows creating or editing the chart filter by using the graphical Filter Builder. For details, see Understanding the Filter Builder and Designing an Advanced Filter with the Filter Builder. You can change the mode by clicking Switch to SQL Mode.
-
SQL mode - this advanced mode allows you to directly specify the SQL WHERE clause and is recommended for advanced SQL users only. For details, see Designing an Advanced Filter by specifying an SQL WHERE clause. You can change the mode by clicking Switch to Design Mode, but the filtering condition that you have entered in the SQL mode will be lost.
