Destination Objects page

You can import your source data into various destinations in your Alloy Navigatordatabase: Alloy Navigator objects such as Incidents or Computers, lookup lists such as Statuses or Types, or object relationships. On this page, choose the destination for data import:

  • To import your data into an Alloy Navigator object, select the object class from the Object Class list. ClosedClick here to view the supported object classes.

    • Activities - Activity Log records for any Alloy Navigator objects

  • To import your data into a particular lookup list (such as Categories for Incidents), select one of the following:

    • For a lookup list common for several object classes (Categories, Statuses, or Types), select Categories, Statuses, or Types from the Object Class drop-down list. You will choose the class of "parent" objects on the next page.

    • For a list of Closure Codes for Incidents, Work Orders, Problems, or Change Requests, select Closure Codes from the Object Class list. You will choose the class of Tickets on the next page.

    • For an individual lookup list that exists only for a particular object class (such as Titles for Persons), select Classification Attributes from the Object Class list. You will choose the particular lookup list on the next page. ClosedClick here to view the supported individual lookup lists.

      • Budgets - the list of Budget Categories for Purchase Orders

      • E-mail Types - the list of E-mail Types for Persons

      • Software Platforms - the list of Platforms for Software Products

      • Ticket Impact - the list of Impacts for Incidents, Change Requests, Problems, and Work Orders

      • Ticket Medium - the list of Medium Codes for Incidents, Change Requests, Problems, and Work Orders

      • Ticket Priority - the list of Priorities for Incidents, Change Requests, Problems, and Work Orders

      • Ticket Urgency - the list of Urgencies for Incidents, Change Requests, Problems, and Work Orders

      • Titles - the list of Personal Titles for Persons

    NOTE: If your source data contains a custom lookup list for a particular object and your destination Alloy Navigator object has a user-defined field (UDF) of the Lookup type, you can import your custom lookup list together with other object attributes. Select the destination object in the Object Class list, and the Field Mapping page will allow you to map your lookup list to the UDF of the Lookup type.

  • To import a list of object relationship types, select Relationship Types from the Object Class list.
