Using the HTML editor

The embedded HTML editor allows you to enter and edit the HTML content in Alloy Navigator records.

You can edit the content in one of two modes:

Design - for editing the content using a WYSIWYG editor that shows the content the way the intended audience sees it.
HTML Code - for editing the HTML code directly (available only for Announcements, KB Articles, and Service Catalog Items).

If the HTML Code mode is available, you can switch between the modes by clicking the Source button on the HTML editor toolbar.

Design mode

In the Design mode, you can edit the content by using the following toolbar buttons:

Icon	Command	Description
	Switch between the modes	Available only for Announcements, KB Articles, and Service Catalog Items. Switches between the HTML Code and the Design modes.
	Style	Applies a format style to the selected text.
	Font	Changes the font of the selected text.
	Font Size	Changes the font size of the selected text.
	Bold	Switches on and off bold formatting of the selected text.
	Italic	Switches on and off italic formatting of the selected text.
	Underline	Switches on and off underlining of the selected text.
	Strikethrough	Switches on and off strikethrough formatting of the selected text.
	Font Color	Changes the color of the selected text.
	Background Color	Highlights the selected text with a specified color.
	Formatting Numbers	Converts the selected paragraphs into a numbered list. NOTE: You can find different numbering formats by right-clicking the selected text and choosing Numbered List Properties from the pop-up menu. All available formats will be displayed in the opened Numbered List Properties dialog box.
	Formatting Bullets	Converts the selected paragraphs into a bulleted list.
	Decrease Indentation	Decreases the left indent of the selected paragraphs.
	Increase Indentation	Increases the left indent of the selected paragraphs.
	Block Quote	Highlights long quotes in your text.
	Align Left	Aligns the selected paragraphs on the left.
	Center	Centers the selected paragraphs.
	Align Right	Aligns the selected paragraphs on the right.
	Justify	Extends each line of your text to the left and right margins..
	Insert Horizontal Line	Inserts the horizontal line into a text.
	Insert Link	Inserts a hyperlink into text. For details, see Inserting hyperlinks in HTML content.
	Unlink	Removes a hyperlink from text.
	Insert Image	Inserts an image into a text. For details, see Inserting images in HTML content.
	Insert Table	Inserts a table into a text. For details, see Inserting tables in HTML content. Inserts the table to an Announcement, KB Article, or Service Catalog Item.
