Viewing Microsoft Outlook events in My Calendar
This page describes a feature of the Desktop App, which is being deprecated. See how this feature works in the Web App
If you use Microsoft Outlook calendar, you can synchronize it with My Calendar and view your appointments, meetings, and events in My Calendar, along with Alloy Navigator events. However, My Calendar does not allow you to re-schedule events in your external calendar or make any other changes to them; you can only view their dates and titles.
NOTE: My Calendar does not display Outlook tasks.
To view your Microsoft Outlook calendar items in My Calendar:
-
Access My Calendar (for example, select Go > My Calendar from the main menu).
-
Expand the Microsoft Outlook pane in the right side bar under the mini-calendar.
-
Select the Show MS Outlook events check box. Microsoft Outlook starts, if it is not started already. The Microsoft Outlook pane shows the name of your Outlook calendar. If you have several calendars in Microsoft Outlook, all of them would be listed.
NOTE: Outlook calendars from the Deleted Items folder are not listed.
-
Select the check boxes for the calendars whose items you want to view. If Microsoft Outlook shows a security warning message and asks you to allow access to e-mail address information stored in Outlook, click Allow.
Outlook appointments, meetings, and events appear in My Calendar. Hover the mouse over an item to display its start date and time and end date and time. If you want to view more details, double-click the item to bring up the Microsoft Outlook Event window.
NOTE: To refresh the calendar, press F5.
Disabling or enabling synchronization with Microsoft Outlook
When the Show MS Outlook events check box in the Microsoft Outlook pane is selected, My Calendar checks the selected Outlook calendars and updates My Calendar with the latest Outlook information whenever you change the calendar view or press F5.
To disable or enable synchronization with Microsoft Outlook:
-
To disable the synchronization, clear the Show MS Outlook events check box.
-
To re-enable the synchronization, select the Show MS Outlook events check box. Microsoft Outlook starts, if it is not started already, and My Calendar displays items from the Outlook calendars that were selected before you disabled the synchronization.
NOTE: If Microsoft Outlook shows a security warning message and asks you to allow access to e-mail address information stored in Outlook, click Allow.
