Menus and toolbars

The Desktop App’s menus and toolbars include:

Menu bar - Located at the top of the Desktop App, above all the other toolbars and menus. Contains Alloy Navigator’s main menu and provides access to all of its modules, commands, and functions.
Standard Toolbar - Located below the menu bar (by default). The Standard Toolbar contains shortcuts to standard tools you can use when working with records (for example, copy, cut, paste, and so on). Inactive functions are grayed-out.
GoTo Toolbar - Provides one-click access to any Alloy Navigator component (go to the dashboard, show Problems, and so on).
Module menu (non-customizable) - Located at the top of the workspace pane of the Desktop App. Provides access to context-specific actions and functions of the component or record that’s open in the workspace pane. This menu appears when you display a component or open a record. For details, see Module menu.

NOTE: When a grid is displayed within a workspace pane, the Module menu may contain the [View Name] drop-down list allowing you to switch between various views. For details, see Views and Working with views.

Custom toolbars - The toolbars that you create and use in addition to the menu bar and other toolbars. Custom toolbars contain commands you’ve added manually.
Pop-up menu - Provides quick and easy access to frequently used commands for a particular screen element. The pop-up menu appears when you right-click on the following screen elements: a list of records, a single record, a data-entry field, the menu bar, the Standard Toolbar, GoTo Toolbar, or any other toolbar, and anywhere inside the workspace pane.
Status toolbar -This toolbar reflects: the current status of the grid in the database, the number of records and the loading time, the number of visible and selected items, the time of the last data refresh. The icon on the toolbar indicates whether or not the Auto-Refresh feature is available for the current grid. For details, see Refreshing data.

You can:

Customize any toolbar by rearranging, adding, and removing shortcuts to various commands.
Hide and show the Standard Toolbar, GoTo Toolbar, and custom toolbars.
Reset the menu bar, Standard Toolbar, and GoTo Toolbar settings.
Add, rename, and remove custom toolbars.
