Adding, changing, or removing pictures for Computers and Hardware device records

Alloy Navigator allows you to maintain pictures for Computers and Hardware device records. You can add a picture, change it, or remove the picture. Alloy Navigator supports any .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, or .png images. The uploaded image will be scaled to the appropriate size automatically.

NOTE: By default, pictures are not included in any grid views for Computers and Hardware devices. To show the column in a particular view you should modify the view configuration and add the Picture field as needed. For details, see Showing and hiding record fields.

NOTE: Your Alloy Navigator administrator can create actions for managing pictures for Computers and Hardware devices. For details, see Configuring Steps.

To add a picture for a Computer or Hardware device:

  1. Open the Object record.

  2. On the General tab, double-click the picture area above the Identification heading. Alternatively, you can right-click the picture area and select Change Picture from the pop-up menu or press CTRL+R.

  3. In the Open window, browse to the picture and click Open.

  4. Save the Object record.

To change a picture for a Computer and Hardware device:

  1. Open the Object record.

  2. On the General tab, double-click the picture area above the Identification heading. Alternatively, you can right-click the picture area and select Change Picture from the pop-up menu or press CTRL+R.

    NOTE: If you have a picture saved in your Clipboard, you can right-click the picture area and select Paste Picture from the pop-up menu or press CTRL+R.

  3. In the Open window, browse to the picture and click Open.

  4. Save the Object record.

To remove a picture from a Computers and Hardware device record:

  1. Open the Object record.

  2. On the General tab, right-click the picture and select Remove Picture from the pop-up menu. Alternatively, you can remove the picture by pressing CTRL+O.

  3. Save the Object record.

To copy a picture to the Clipboard:

  1. Open the Object record.

  2. Right-click the picture and select Copy from the pop-up menu. Your picture is saved to the Clipboard.
