Configuring self-registration
In the Self Service Portal > Self-Registration section, you choose the registration options for new customers of the Self Service Portal (SSP).
Enable self-registration - enables self-registration for SSP customers.
IMPORTANT: The Self-Registration option is supported if only you employ Standard authentication for SSP users. If you employ Windows authentication, you can use Active Directory Synchronization for creating SSP Customer accounts automatically.
Notify the manager when users self-register - enables sending the Manager Notification message when any customer is registered. Messages are sent to the e-mail address specified in the Manager's e-mail address field below.
Self-registered accounts must be authorized by the manager - prevents the self-registered customers from gaining access to the SSP without authorization.
Notify the manager when authorization is requested - enables sending the Authorization Request message when a self-registered customer requires authorization. Messages are sent to the e-mail address specified in the Manager's e-mail address field below.
Manager's e-mail address - the e-mail address of a person to whom the Manager Notification and Authorization Request are sent (a Service Desk manager or any other person designated to moderate SSP accounts).
NOTE: In order to be able to authorize pending registrations, this manger must be an Alloy Navigator administrator. For details, see Authorizing pending SSP registrations.
Workflow - specifies how to create Person records for self-registered customers:
Create new Person using Action - the Create Service Action for auto-creating Person records for self-registered customers. To specify a Create Service action, click the ellipsis button and select the Action in the Select Action window.
NOTE: You manage Service Actions for a particular object class in Workflow and Business Logic > [Module] > [Object Class] > Workflow > Actions > Service Actions section. For details, see Configuring Service Actions.
NOTE: When self-registered accounts must be authorized by the manager, Alloy Navigator creates Person records only for approved requests. For details, see Authorizing pending SSP registrations.
