Viewing fields' usage in workflow

You can view all workflow items and components (Actions, Forms, Functions, Macros, etc.) that use a user-defined field or a system field, i.e. have placeholders for the field's value. It is useful when you are going to delete or rename a UDF, or when you need to know what workflow items and components use this particular field and where.

To view a field's usage in the workflow:

  1. Go to General > Fields > [Object Class]. Alternatively, you can access fields of a particular object class under Workflow and Business LogicClosed (Workflow and Business Logic > [Module] > [Object Class] > Fields) .

  2. Double-click the field you want to view. The Field Properties (for a system field) or User Defined Field (for a user-defined field) window appears.

  3. Click the Usage tab, where the workflow items and components are displayed. Note the Placement and Placement Details values. To open a workflow item or component, double-click it or use the Open button.
