Properties of Multiple Nodes window
The Properties of Multiple Nodes window allows you to examine properties common to multiple nodes and change properties to all those nodes simultaneously. You may want to specify a set of audit credentials for the selected nodes and to correct their identifying information, when applicable. To access this window, select multiple nodes in the grid, right-click the selected records and choose Properties from the pop-up menu (for details, see Viewing and Changing Network Node Properties).
This Properties of Multiple Nodes window contains the following information:
[Number of] nodes selected - shows the number of nodes selected at the same time.
Network Node Type - specifies the type common to all the selected nodes. In case the nodes are not recognized, they are defined as Unknown. You can manually change this data in the Reclassify Multiple Nodes window that opens on clicking the Change button.
NOTE: In case you select the nodes of different types (e.g. a switch, a Mac computer, and a printer) this field stores the <miscellaneous> value. This value cannot be modified when any of the selected nodes has the audit snapshot loaded to the database.
For computers:
OS Type - shows the type of operating system for the computer or virtual machine. For not audited computers, you can manually specify the type of operating system: such as Windows, Linux, or Mac OS.
Hypervisor - for computer running virtualizaion platform, shows and allows you to modify the hypervisor, such as MS Hyper-V Server, VMware ESX, Vmware ESXi, Xen Hypervisor, Citrix XenServer.
NOTE: When you want Alloy Discovery to update a Hypervisor value, specify the type as Undefined and discover the Site or the Direct Network Scan Audit Source where that hypervisor belongs. If a hypervisor is already specified or the Hypervisor field stores the Not a Hypervisor value, Alloy Discovery does not update the data.
For Chromebooks:
OS Type - shows the type of operating system for the Chromebook. For not audited Chromebooks, you can manually specify the type of operating system: such as Chrome OS.
For network devices:
Network Device Type - the type of the network device, such as printer, router, switch, UPS, etc. If a network device is not recognized among different types of network devices, it is defined as Other so you can choose its type manually from the Network Device Type drop-down list.
NOTE: Custom types of network devices are configured by the Alloy Discovery administrator. For details, see Configuring Network Device types.
SNMP version - the version of the SNMP protocol used by Alloy Discovery to collect SNMP information from the network devices. You can choose the SNMP version from the list (v1, v2c, v3) or keep the default Autodetect option. Depending on the SNMP version Alloy Discovery uses the corresponding SNMP audit credentials. To manually change the SNMP version for all the selected nodes, click the Change button and choose the SNMP version in the Reclassify Multiple Nodes window.

Use the settings from this Audit Source - specifies the set of credentials common to all the selected nodes. You can manually create a new set of credentials or modify credentials' set of the existing audit source in the Change Credentials for Multiple Nodes window that opens on clicking the Change button.

Credentials - stores the <miscellaneous> value, specifying that the selected nodes have different sets of credentials. You overwrite the credentials of the multiple nodes using the Change Credentials for Multiple Nodes window that opens on clicking the Change button.
