Viewing software inventory

This article describes the Software section in AlloyScan, where you can gain valuable insights into your organization's software assets.

All software detected during the computer audit is listed in the Software section. Each row represents a specific software product and provides the following details: product name, operating system type, product version and build number, manufacturer, software group, and total number of detected installations.

Clicking on a product name opens a side panel with the list of computers where that product is installed. Clicking Change history opens a summary of changes, if change tracking for software is enabled in the Admin Center.

Display mode: By name / By name and version

You can control how discovered software products are displayed, depending on whether you need a simplified or detailed view.

• List by name: All versions of the same product (with the same name) are combined into a single record. This mode helps reduce the number of records and gives a high-level overview of installed products.

• List by name & version: Each version of a product is listed separately. Use this mode when you need to see exactly which versions are installed and track version-specific details.

Switch between these modes depending on whether you want a detailed view with versions or a compact view grouped by product name.
