This article describes the Notification templates section in the Admin Center. It displays a list of system, standard, and conditional templates and allows administrators to customize these templates. Here administrators can manage and customize notification templates.

System, standard, and conditional templates serve different purposes and are used in different situations.

  • System templates are predefined templates that are built into the system and cannot be edited or deleted.

  • Standard templates are templates that can be customized by administrators to fit their organization's needs. They are used for notifications that are sent out regularly, such as device inventory reports, software deployment notifications, or maintenance alerts.

  • Conditional templates are templates that are designed to be triggered by specific conditions or events, such as when a device runs low on free disk space or when a user logs in from an unusual location. These templates are more complex than standard templates and require more advanced configuration.

Templates can be exported as JSON and edited in JSON format, which makes it easy to customize their content and format.

Clicking on a template opens a sliding pane that shows the subject and the message fields (other fields can be also available). There are also dynamic value placeholders that you can insert into any field.

To insert a placeholder, click the Placeholder icon next to the relevant field to open the list of placeholders, select a placeholder, and click Insert. This makes it easy to customize notifications with specific details such as computer name, user name, and other device-specific information.
