Notifying requesters and other technicians

Typically, the Service Desk component supports sending e-mail notifications to Change Request' or Tickets' requesters or any other technician.

You can notify requesters and assignees by performing the following workflow actions from the Actions menu or Action Bar:

  • Communications > Notify Requester - this action is typically available if you are not the requester.

  • Communications > Notify Requester's Manager - this action is typically available if the requester has a manager.

  • Communications > Notify Technician - this action is always available. You use it to notify any Technician.

  • Communications > Notify - this action is always available. You use it to notify any Person.

The e-mail notifications are sent to the Persons' primary e-mail addresses. Your administrator may configure Alloy Navigator Express to automatically send notifications when the Ticket or Change Request satisfies the specified condition, or when a specific event occurs.
