Report Parameters dialog box

In the Report Parameters dialog box, you can specify parameters for a report that you want to generate. Most reports require some parameters: a start and end date, grouping, sorting, and other kind of parameters. Generally speaking, the set of parameters listed in the Report Parameters dialog box depends on a particular report. However, pre-configured summary reports have some common parameters. The most frequent of these are listed below.

  • Group By - the characteristic for grouping data in the report. For example, tickets can be grouped by urgency, priority, assignee, or other characteristics. If you do not want the report data to be grouped, select No grouping.

  • Date Range - the time span displayed by the report.

You can choose a predetermined period from the list:

    Date / Datetime Parameter Description

    Today

The current day. For example, at 12:00 on August 1, you generate a "Completed Tickets" report using the Today parameter. The resulting list shows all Tickets completed during the current day: between midnight (00:00:00) and your current time, noon (12:00:00), on August 1.

    This week

A timeframe from the beginning of the current week to the ending of the current week (the current date and timer). For a "Completed Tickets", a parameter for This week returns Tickets completed between the Monday at midnight to the current day and time.

    Last 7 days

A timeframe between midnight on the first day 7 days ago and the current date and time.

    Last week

A timeframe between the beginning of the previous week and the ending of the previous week (last calendar day). It does not include up to the present day. For "Completed Tickets", if you choose the Last week parameter on Tuesday August 11, it returns Tickets completed between the Sunday August 2 (00:00:00) up until Sunday August 9 (00:00:00).

    Last 14 days

A timeframe between midnight on the first day 14 days ago and the current date and time.

    This month

A timeframe from the beginning of the current month to the current date and time.

    Last 30 days

A timeframe between midnight on the first day 30 days ago and the current date an time.

    Last month

A timeframe between midnight on the first day one full month ago and the ending of the previous month (the last calendar day).

    This year

A timeframe from the beginning of the current year up to the current date and time.

    Last year

A timeframe between midnight on the first day one full year ago and the and the ending of the previous year (the last calendar day).

  • Search Scope - the search scope displayed by the report. You can choose a predetermined scope from the list: All, Tickets, or Knowledge Base. This field is available for the SSP Search.
  • Show Results - the characteristic for displaying search results in the report. By default, the report shows only searches where the query fails to return any records (i.e. Failed). You can choose a predetermined characteristic from the list: All, Successful, Failed. This field is available for the SSP Search.

  • Sort By - the characteristic for sorting data in the report. For example, tickets can be sorted by ticket ID, date, requester, or other characteristics. If grouping is enabled, the data is sorted within each group.

  • Allow delivery of empty reports - keep this check box selected if you want to allow sending empty reports. This option is available for the SSP Search only.

NOTE: A detail report does not necessarily contain any listed parameters. For example, some reports do not have sorting. Reports may contain other parameters, in addition to those listed above.
