Expanding and collapsing records
This article explains how to use the Expand All and Collapse All options to organize and structure large sets of records in data grids.
When dealing with a substantial amount of data, it can be overwhelming to see all records at once. The Expand All options allows you to view all the data within a particular group or category simultaneously, making it easier to grasp the overall structure and contents of the dataset. The Collapse All option condenses the view, allowing you to focus on high-level summaries.
NOTE: The steps for managing these options vary depending on the user interface you are using in data grids, whether it's the new experience or the classic one.
For the new experience:
-
Group records by using one of the methods described in Grouping. The buttons appear on the right side of the Group Panel.
-
Click the buttons to expand or collapse records in the grid.
For the classic experience:
-
Group records by using one of the methods described in Grouping.
-
Right-click anywhere in the grid and and choose Group > Expand All or Group > Collapse All from the pop-up menu.
