General tab

The General tab shows the information about one particular place or physical location in the following fields:

  • Type - displays the type of Location. The list of Location types is defined by your Alloy Navigator Express administrator.

  • Parent - shows the name of the parent Location to which this Location is subordinate in the hierarchical tree. If this Location is on the top level of hierarchy, the field appears empty. When this Location is subordinate, that is the Parent field is not empty, the field label becomes hyperlinked. You can view Person details by clicking its label.

  • Location - displays the Location name (for example, Business Center, 1st floor). This field is mandatory. The combination of the Parent location and Location fields fully identifies the Location and is shown in the Location fields of various objects (for example, Baltimore, MD\Business Center, 1st floor).

  • Manager - displays the name of the Person selected as the Location manager. When the manager is chosen, you can view Person details by clicking its hypelinked field label.

  • Address - shows the mailing address.

  • Time Zone - allows you to choose the time zone, or local time, for the location.

The General tab may also display various user-defined fields in an additional section if your Alloy Navigator Express administrator has configured them accordingly. The default name of this section is "Custom Data", although your Alloy Navigator Express administrator may have renamed this section.

NOTE: User-defined fields can appear also on the Custom Data tab (this is the default name of the tab; it can be renamed by your Alloy Navigator Express administrator).
