Adding attachments

You can add attachments (files or links) using the Attachmentstab of an open object's detail form. Most workflow actions also offer an option to attach files on their action forms while performing workflow actions. This page describes various scenarios where you can add attachments to Alloy Navigator Express objects.

ClosedTo attach files from an object detail form:

  1. Open your record and click the Attachments tab.

  2. Click Attach or press CTRL+SHIFT+A on the keyboard.

  3. In the Open dialog box select a file to attach. To select multiple files, hold down the SHIFT (for adjacent files) or CTRL (for non-adjacent files) key while clicking the files.

  4. Click Open.

ClosedTo attach a link from an object detail form:

  1. Open your record and click the Attachments tab.

  2. Click Attach > Link.

  3. In the Link dialog box, enter the link location and optionally description.

  4. Click OK.

ClosedTo attach files from a workflow action form:

  1. In your action form, click Attach.

  2. In the Open dialog box select a file to attach. To select multiple files, hold down the SHIFT (for adjacent files) or CTRL (for non-adjacent files) key while clicking the files.

  3. Click Open.

  • You can also attach files as follows:

    • In the Windows Explorer (or another application supporting copying of files to the Clipboard), copy the desired file(s) to the Clipboard and then attach them by clicking Paste File on the Attachments tab or in the action form.

    • In any application that supports viewing images and copying them to the Clipboard, copy an image or a part of it to the Clipboard, then paste it by pressing CTRL+V or SHIFT+INS on your keyboard.

    • Drag the desired file(s) from the original location to the Attachments tab.
