Associating Virtual Machines with Host Machines

Alloy Navigator Express provides the ability to establish manual association of virtual client computers with host computers where they reside.

NOTE: For computer records that were created during network inventory data upload, Network Inventory automatically associates virtual guest computers with their hosts.

• To associate a virtual computer to a host manually:

  1. Open the Computer record.

  2. Click the Configuration tab.

  3. In the Virtualization section, do one of the following:

  • If the Computer is not marked as a virtual machine, select the Virtual Machine check box. Click the ellipsis button next to the Host field name to display the Select Host window, then double-click the host where the virtual guest computer resides and click OK.

  or

  • If a Computer is already marked as a virtual machine, Click the ellipsis button next to the Host field name to display the Select Host window, then double-click the host where the virtual guest computer resides and click OK.
