Automation Server

The Automation Server is a Windows service for running all automated tasks in Network Inventory, scheduled or initiated at user’s request.

The Automation Server requires a significant amount of system resources. When your organization has more than 500 computers, you can consider installing the Automation Server on a dedicated server computer, separately from your Microsoft SQL Server instance for the database.

INFO: For details, see Installation Guide: Server machine requirements.

You configure and register the Automation Server on the server computer, using the Alloy Automation Server Manager. You can start the Automation Server Manager as follows:

  • In the Alloy Control Panel, click the Automation Server Manager icon.
