Network Inventory User's Guide

Minimally Necessary Permissions

Minimally necessary permissions are the permissions for the network folder that are absolutely necessary for the Inventory Analyzer and Network Inventory to operate.

They imply the following permissions:

Permission Network folder and all files in it AuditData folder and files in it Log folder and all files in it
  Automation Server account Everyone Everyone Everyone

Traverse Folder/Execute File

 

 

List Folder/Read Data

Read Attributes

Read Extended Attributes

Create Files/Write Data

 

Create Folders/Append Data

 

Write Attributes

 

 

Write Extended Attributes

 

 

Delete Subfolders and Files

 

 

 

Read Permissions

Change Permissions

 

These minimally necessary permissions are used for the Network Folder Audit and Remote Audit methods to create the most secure environment for the network share and audit snapshot files stored there.
